FAQ

The calendar

Kilim (Turkish) is a carpet (mainly flat weave) with a weaving technique originating from the Orient. The weaving of kilims goes back to a centuries-old, pre-Islamic tradition and was particularly practiced by the nomads. The weavings reflect their everyday life, their emotions and their interactions with nature and living beings.

As temporal nomads, we too weave our days into a big whole, a carpet full of experiences, visions and dreams: our year, an individual, unique story.

All of our calendars are inspired by the style of Kilim carpets. Traditional patterns and a sometimes light to clear weave structure connect all our specimens.

The calendar is suitable for writing thanks to its 3x3 cm boxes, which lie white over the pattern, plus the monthly note field. Thanks to the matt, slightly rough fine art paper, the Kilim can be written on with any pen, even a pencil. Our calendar is designed in such a way that the notes are visually simple despite the labeling and the print dominates from a distance.

We only use high-quality, museum-quality, vegan artist paper. Our paper is matt, thick and weighs 200 grams per square meter. It is lightfast and provides an extremely high color intensity. It feels soft and particularly fine, so that planning becomes a haptic experience.

Important: The calendar is delivered without a suspension. For a high-quality art print weighing 200 grams, 4-5 Powerstipes on the back, poster rails or picture frames are suitable. (You will soon find these in our category: Bundles.)

Since the calendar was rolled up longer during shipping, we recommend that you counter-roll it very gently before hanging it, or that you lay it out in a safe place for 2-3 days to allow the paper to flatten out.

The production

In contrast to the mass printing process with chemical inks, we work in the fine art area with material-based pigment inks . Ground color pigments are printed on papers with little or no optical brighteners . This results in maximum quality and long-term color stability .

We print in Germany, a small climate-neutral fine art print shop. Each calendar is treated with the utmost care and lovingly packed.

We print climate-neutrally on vegan paper with water-based inks, rely on limited editions and recyclable packaging. Within the EU we ship climate-neutral. More sustainable is always possible: That is why we are working on constant improvements to make our product even more environmentally friendly, such as switching to pure natural fibers.
